Gov. John Kitzhaber has begun accepting applications for a judicial position on the Circuit Court for the Seventh Judicial District to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Paul G. Crowley of Hood River. The governor thanked Judge Crowley for his service to Gilliam, Hood River, Sherman, Wasco, and Wheeler counties and said he will fill the position by appointment. Judge Crowley’s retirement takes effect July 1.

I have been following the story of a local landowner, Cherry Trautwein, here in Hood River and her property rights, or lack thereof. I have read what seems to be most of the ORS (Oregon Revised Statutes) as it refers to her particular situation, and it appears as though something is amiss.
