Letter to the editor: Thanks city

To the editor: I live on Thompson Street and I want to thank Mayor Steve Lawrence and the city council for getting our street fixed without $10,000 out of our pocket, interest and a lien on our property. Past City Manager Nolan Young badgered the residents of Thompson Street for years over this.

Nearly eight months after former City Administrator Samantha Nelson submitted her resignation to the city of Fairview, a permanent replacement has been announced. Nolan Young of The Dalles will take on the post as of Jan. 25.

Letter to the editor: Appalling action

To the editor: On September 14 four members of The Dalles City Council dismissed City Manager Nolan Young with no public discussion or explanation. The action was effective immediately. In the nearly two weeks since then no one, to my knowledge, has explained their action. This is appalling.
