A fire broke out on Mott Rd around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, July 15, caused by a lawnmower. The fire was contained around 10:30 p.m. Total acreage burned is approximately 86 acres. No structures were lost.
A grass fire burns at 1951 Lambert St. in The Dalles, ignited by sparks from a blown fuse on a power pole, according to Chief Bob Palmer of Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue.

Icy conditions made a mess for Skamania County Fire Department District No. 3, with mutual aid from Klickitat County Fire District No. 3, White Salmon Fire Department, and Bingen Fire Department, when they responded to a house fire off Wess Road in Underwood.
Crews open a garage door to attack a fire creating heavy black smoke to issue from inside a building in the 2000 block of West Second, adjacent to the Gorge Farm and Feed retail store, noon Saturday, Oct. 12. According to unconfirmed reports, the fire was contained to a vehicle inside the structure. Dallesport and Hood River provided mutual aid for the fire, and Second Street was temporarily closed.
