The weeks after Halloween are when both Hood River city and county’s public works departments take the time to make sure that all of their equipment is ready for winter.

The Hood River County courthouse, a marvel when it was built in 1954, has since fallen to the bottom rung of Oregon’s most decrepit judicial buildings.

Hood River County Public Works Department will be closing access to the Powerdale Corridor parking lot just off Highway 35 next week beginning Nov. 1 to allow several hundred feet of pipe removed from the site.
