An opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment clinic is opening in The Dalles this month, and a key reason its owners decided to locate here was it had so many Gorge clients traveling more than an hour for care at its other clinics.

To the editor: Today would have been my son David’s 50th birthday. He died five years ago, in his sleep, from ingesting his third pill of a prescription for the pain he suffered for his inherited scoliosis — methadone.
