Fourth of July celebrations kicked off with the 40th Annual Kollas Cranmer Run early Saturday morning that saw 213 runners and 107 walkers make the 7.4-mile trek from downtown Odell to Jackson Park in Hood River.

Runners and walkers turned out in full force for this year’s Kollas-Cranmer Memorial Run on July 4, breaking not only attendance records, but also posting some of the fastest times in the history of the event, which started in the early 1970s.

More than 450 walkers and runners turned out Wednesday morning for the annual Kollas-Cranmer Memorial Run. Sunny skies and cool temperatures greeted participants with near-perfect running weather, and as more and more people passed through the registration tables, it was clear the crowd was the largest the run has ever seen.
