The race for the Columbia River Conference title is far from over, but at least one thing is now for certain: the HRV softball team has at least earned a play-in game at the conclusion of the regular season.

After winning five of their last six to close out non-league play, the Eagles have not gotten the start to Columbia River Conference games they were hoping for, dropping their third straight game to Pendleton Tuesday evening.

After dropping their first two games, including an 11-0 loss to Sandy on Thursday, the Eagles softball team got its first win of the season Saturday against the West Anchorage Eagles from Alaska, trouncing them by a score of 9-2.
