The 66th annual Hood River City bowling tournament was held at Orchard Lanes last week. Many thanks to everybody who competed — the turnout was excellent!
The Dalles cross country athletes (pictured from left to right) Cory Cameron and Molly Nelson show off their Most Inspirational plaques made by assistant coach Robert Clark, with the help of the welding class and the woodshop teacher, Wednesday at The Dalles Middle School. Emma Mullins and Ezekiel Stelzer were awarded Most Outstanding as runners, and the trio of Tressa Wood, Ethan Shubert and David Wring won Most Improved. Mullins and Stelzer won first-team All-Columbia River Conference honors, and Wood, John Miller, Jony Nelson and Luke McLean had their names called for the second team.
Leading up to the final cross country race of the season, the biggest for this group of 16 runners, including seven seniors, head coach Bob Thouvenel said the vibe in practices this week has been workmanlike and hyper-focused.
Bowling league action at Hood River’s Orchard Lanes was smoking hot last week! Five scratch 700 series were rolled and seven bowlers finished up 100 pins or better over their three game sets.
