Joshua Farris said Thursday that he will not apologize to The Dalles City Council for his “outrage” on Monday, but he has apologized, and will continue to do so, to any audience member or citizen viewing a live stream of the meeting who was upset by his behavior.

To the editor: As we come to that time of year where we give thanks for the many blessings in our lives, I would be remiss if I did not say “thank you” to my friends and neighbors for returning me to the Oregon House of Representatives to serve as your voice in Salem.

To the editor: You made a ghastly mistake in placing the dark black “Sex Abuser...’ headline above the picture of the honorable young man ( Fritz) who is battling Tourette’s syndrome, in your July 22 2015 issue. At first glance especially when the paper is folded, it looks like he is the perpetrator. What a thoughtless and inconsiderate layout.

To the editor: A vote for Carolyn Wood is a vote for intelligence, integrity and independence. Carolyn has worked hard for our community and is willing to continue working for us. At this time there are individuals who have made this a single-issue race and accused her of being solely responsible for our current water/sewer rates even though it would be impossible for a single member of council to do that.

The Dalles City Council had a couple of opportunities at its Monday meeting to cause grief and strife in the life of local residents, and, to its credit, avoided doing so in both cases.
