There was a fire on Aug.14 on York Hill Road in Hood River. The fire was approximately two acres in size, but has since been put out, according to the Mosier Fire Facebook Page.
To the editor: Over a year and a half ago, I purchased a rose bush from Parks and Recreation for the memorial garden in honor of my husband. Darrell dedicated over 48 years to this city (county) in law enforcement. I thought it only fitting that he should have a memorial in his name. I hadn’t learned my lesson yet!

Shallow caves and overhangs on the hills west of Mill Creek were fronted by long icicles which were gradually melting over the weekend as warming temperatures began a slow thaw following weeks or freezing temperatures.
