Flags at all public institutions throughout Oregon will be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset today for Patriot Day.

Gov. Kate Brown on Friday ordered all flags at Oregon public institutions to be flown at half-staff in honor of Ashland Police Officer Malcus Williams, who died on duty while responding to an emergency call on March 2. Flags were lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, March 17, the date of Officer Williams’ memorial service.

Gov. Kate Brown on Thursday ordered all flags at Oregon public institutions to be flown at half-staff immediately until sunset on Feb. 19 in honor of the victims of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.
