Hood River’s Orchard Lanes was the place to be last week. Bowling league action never ceases to amaze, and this Team of the Week is comprised of a perfect representation of our best keglers, regulars and new faces who are basking in the limelight for the first time.
Congratulations to the Flintstones trio for winning the championship of the Thursday County league at Hood River’s Orchard Lanes. The championship was decided in a roll-off between the Flintstones and the first-half winners, the Pinbusters.
The pins took a beating in league action at Hood River’s Orchard Lanes last week. The two hottest bowlers in town kept up their torrid pace with a nearly perfect game and big series numbers. New bowlers also found the range and familiar names in women’s play hit pay dirt, too.
The Hood River Valley High School girls bowling team competed in its district tournament last week in Hermiston, against teams from Pendleton and Hermiston.
Thanksgiving week in league action at Hood River’s Orchard Lanes, though shortened by the holiday, still saw plenty of strikes. Our vaunted Team of the Week was dominated by regulars like powerful lefty Greg McDaniel, cranker extraordinaire Brandon Kawachi and the stylish Jeff Miller. We have come to expect big numbers from these guys; they are among the top bowlers in town and can hold their own with just about anybody.
In this combination of two weeks’ worth of action on the lanes, we see Levi Phelps and Greg McDaniel rising to the top to garner Bowler of the Week honors.
