The new school year is coming quickly and brings a new crop of students itching to get their hands on a robot. One of the easiest ways to help youth find their way to a robot is to get involved with FIRST robotics, said a press release.

Gorge Tech Alliance (GTA) invites the community to interact with three levels of youth robotics in the Gorge and learn easy ways to make a difference supporting STEM (science, tech, engineering and math) education on March 19 at 6 p.m. at Springhouse Cellar Winery, 13 Railroad Ave.

A partnership between local libraries, the Gorge Tech Alliance, Wasco County 4-H, and the Columbia Gorge STEM Hub is hosting three “Introduce a Girl to Engineering” events in the Gorge on Thursday, Feb. 22. The events are part of a national movement led by DiscoverE to provide more girls with exposure to engineering fields.

On April 28, the Gorge Tech Alliance welcomes everyone to hear expert Marcella Vail, from the Portland marketing firm Kinesis, for a presentation on “Recipes for Marketing Success for Manufacturers.” The event will be at 6:30 p.m. at the White Buffalo Wine Bar in Hood River. Appetizers will be provided; there is a $10 entry for non-GTA members.
