Come celebrate Halloween at the River City Saloon featuring the Latin funk sounds of Rubberneck. Ricardo and Pablo Ojeda were born to a musical family in Valdivia, Chile. After moving to Portland, Oregon, the brothers recruited like-minded players to form their own Latin-influenced funk band. With Ricardo writing the songs, singing and playing lead guitar and Pablo contributing to arrangements and playing bass, Rubberneck debuted in 1992. The band has mounted three national tours since the release of their last album. Playing in nearly 40 states, they have experienced many musical adventures and personnel changes, each leading to the band's current ascendancy as a regional musical force. Their recent albums, Nosotros (1995) and El Nino (1998), have sold a combined total of over 15,000 copies and regularly appear on the Northwest Top-Selling Bands Chart.

The unplugged groove of Rubberneck returns to Hood River as Toca Saturday for an evening of acoustic funk at Savino’s Lounge in Hood River.

When Stephen Ashbrook was getting ready to produce his latest album, he went to meeting after meeting with record executives who were excited about his music and were interested in signing him on.

This Thursday, Portland’s own Rosewater makes its first appearance at the River City Saloon. Rosewater has emerged as one of Portland's premiere purveyors of instrumental fusion music. The band synthesizes the best of rock, funk, electronica, and jazz into groove heavy jams that keep dance floors packed and ears turned towards the stage. For this reason they have shared the stage with legendary artists like Maceo Parker and Karl Denson,.
