WHITE SALMON — White Salmon City Councilors will be considering a proposal to allow the mayor to declare a water emergency and implement mandatory conservation measures at this Wednesday’s city council meeting.
The proposed amendments to the municipal code on water conservation would grant the mayor the authority to declare various stages of water emergencies and implement conservation measures based on the severity of a given emergency.
SALEM — Governor Kate Brown on Dec. 31 issued the following statement regarding planned defiance of her Executive Orders, which have reduced the spread of COVID-19 across Oregon:
April is National Distracted Driving Awareness month, and The Dalles police officers and state troopers will be increasing patrols on Thursday, April 11, looking for drivers who are violating Oregon’s distracted driving law.
The Dalles Police Department will be actively enforcing the downtown parking ordinance during the holiday season with an officer on patrol along designated areas of First through Fifth streets. People living or working in the downtown blocks are prohibited from parking in front of stores in areas marked on the map shown above between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., except as allowed for deliveries.
