Stelzer, Hoey shine at Wasco Fair run

Ezekiel Stelzer and Amanda Hoey were the highlights of last weekend’s Wasco County Fair Run/Walk, leading their respective divisions for first place as nearly 30 runners showed up to perform on the tough Tygh valley course. Stelzer won the men’s 5k race with a time of 18 minutes and 17 seconds, nearly two minutes better than his next two opponents.

Bazinga Bots ‘connect’ at championship

HOOD RIVER—Work done all the way back in July paid off Saturday for the Bazinga Bots. The Dalles robotics team won the Connect Award at the FIRST Tech Challenge Mid-Columbia and Central Oregon Championship, which went to the team that most connected with their local science, technology, engineering and math community.
