Port of Hood River moves to discontinue boathouses in marina

During the Port of Hood River’s bimonthly meeting, conversation and discussion surrounded the future of boathouses in the Hood River Marina and potential replacement and expansion. Much of the first hour was filled  with public comment for and against phasing out boathouses in the marina, visions for future use and development of the Marina, and for the port’s actions and support for local sailing teams.

Stafford hired as HR port waterfront, marina manager

Daryl Stafford joined Port of Hood River staff on April 23 as the new waterfront and marina manager, replacing Steve Carlson. Stafford is a longtime Gorge sailing and water-sport enthusiast, entrepreneur, and administrative professional known in the sailing and surfing communities served by the port, said a press release.
