November is not noted for its clear skies here in the Pacific Northwest, with clouds and rain dominating our skies even here on the sunnier side of the Cascade Mountains. But take a look outside when skies do clear, and the earlier nightfall and emergence of bright winter constellations make the effort worthwhile!

SALEM (AP) — Dozens of people reported seeing a fireball flash across Northwest skies at about 6 a.m. Wednesday, moving east to west. Robert Lunsford of the American Meteor Society told the Statesman Journal it had 165 reports from sky watchers in the Northwest and Canada.
