CAROL RODERICK, left, was named outstanding volunteer of the year during the 2015 Tradition of Compassion awards ceremony Thursday night at the Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue station off Webber Street. She was selected for her work with the Wasco County School District 21 and the National Guard. David Neitling was named outstanding philanthropist for his work on the Riverfront Trail, his dedication to Habitat for Humanity and his donations to the tennis court resurfacing project at Sorosis Park. Hire Electric was named outstanding philanthropic corporation for donated services to local veterans and support of community events. Mid-Columbia Community Action Council was named outstanding community service organization for their work to help people in need improve their lives. The event was sponsored by Griffith Motors and catering sponsor and host was Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue.
The final logo design for The Dalles High School Riverhawks was approved by the District 21 School Board July 10.
