Poachers pay more than $15,000 for taking bull elk, buck deer

MOSIER —Poachers will pay $16,000 in fines and restitution for killing a trophy elk and at least one buck dear near Mosier in 2021, according to OSP Fish & Wildlife officials. The member of the public who reported a suspicious photo circulating on social media earned five hunter preference points.

The  Fort Dalles Riders Club hosts the return of rodeo in The Dalles with the  Hell on Hooves Rough Stock Rodeo this weekend, June 28-29, presented by C.H. Urness Motor Company and Y102 Gorge Radio. The event will feature professional bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding and barrel racing, as well as mutton bustin’ and Mexican dancing horses.
