Bethany Lutheran to launch new school

Bethany Lutheran Church in The Dalles is opening a new elementary school in fall 2014. Called Columbia Lutheran School, it will be housed within the church itself, in rooms that will soon be remodeled into sizeable classrooms, said Pastor Jesse Jacobsen.

Bethany Lutheran presents a free pre-Christmas event for kids on Saturday, Dec. 14. “Christmas for Kids” is a one-day Vacation Bible School for children ages 4 to 10. Parents will appreciate the “day-out” time for shopping and Christmas preparations, while their children attend a safe, entertaining event. Parents may drop-off their children any time after 9:30 a.m. and pick them up by 2 p.m. The children may stay for the entire event, or come for an hour or two.
