To the editor: Nothing has changed from the days of Yahshua (Jesus) till now. Yahshua stated, “Beware of pastor, they like to walk around in long robes and like respectful greetings, and chief seats in the churches, and places of honor at banquets…and for appearance’s sake, offer long prayers, these will receive greater condemnation.” Nothing has changed.

Kiwanis host Honald service

The late Gary Honald will be remembered in a Celebration of Life on Sunday, July 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Civic Auditorium in The Dalles, The date would have been Honald’s 80th birthday, a day that he took great delight in reminding everyone about The Dalles Kiwanis Club meetings, paying $1 for the privilege. each week.

This weekend (Aug. 16-18) is the Fruit Loop’s Summer Fruit Festival, and Tammi Packer is ready. Packer Orchards and Bakery, located along Highway 35 in Odell, has a host of goodies ready for hungry customers, including apple pie, apple cinnamon rolls and applesauce.
