For the first time in school history, the Hood River girls lacrosse team advanced to the semifinals in the gold bracket of the Oregon Girls Lacrosse Playoffs.
Last week, the HRV girls lacrosse team made short work of Lincoln in their final Portland League contest of the regular season, going on a 5-0 run in the first 13 minutes of the game on their way to a 16-7 win over the Cardinals.
Fresh off a statement-making victory over Tualatin last week, the HRV girls lacrosse team added some more feathers to their caps Wednesday night, when they concluded their league schedule with a resounding 16-7 defeat of the Lincoln Cardinals in Hood River.
Before HRV’s game Friday with Tualatin, Eagles Head Coach Andrew McElderry pointed to the nonleague contest against the 13-1 Timberwolves as “very telling as to where we truly stand in the state.”
The HRV girls lacrosse team’s six-game win streak came to an end Friday in Portland when the Eagles ran up against one of the best teams in the state, league opponent Oregon Episcopal School, and fell 13-11 to the Aardvarks.
It was a familiar scene for the HRV girls lacrosse team Tuesday evening in Portland, as the Eagles got their sixth consecutive blowout victory, this time dispatching the Central Catholic Rams 16-4 at Delta Park.
