The Dufur High Rangers had an impressive start to their Class 1A girls basketball season with a 51-25 home win over the Powder Valley High Badgers Dec. 4 at Dufur High School. The Rangers, guided by Coach Nathan Morris, led from start-to-finish in the non-league contest against the Badgers (0-2).

Dufur girls lose to 2A Heppner

The 2A Heppner Mustangs outscored Dufur 38-18 through three quarters, but the Lady Rangers rallied for a 17-8 fourth-quarter run to cut the deficit late in their 46-35 loss Saturday in Dufur. Dufur had a seven-point improvement from the first time these two teams played on Dec. 6, a 47-29 Heppner win.

One day after losing a 35-31 heartbreaker to Arlington, the Sherman Huskies responded with their first win of the season, a 64-28 victory, at home versus Mitchell-Spray Saturday in Big Sky girls basketball action in Moro.
