Two years ago, Greg Cummings fielded a group of baseball players to a runner-up finish at state. With several of those athletes back, the expectations for the 2018 Babe Ruth All-Stars are higher. “I hate to say world series or bust, but that’s where I am going,” Cummings said.
The Dalles 10U All-Stars took a pair of losses during District 5 baseball play, losing to Bend South, 17-8 on Saturday, and 14-10 versus John Day River in Sunday’s elimination contest at Kramer Field. “I am proud of these kids. They gave everything they had. They competed hard against two very good teams,” TD head coach Corey Case said.
The Gorge Roller Girls All-Stars take on Lilac City, from Spokane, Wash. and The Blood ‘N Gorge Apprentice team is scheduled to host a bout versus the Chaos Theory Pickup Rollers, out of Eastern Washington, in a roller derby doubleheader starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 28 at The Fort Dalles Readiness Center, located at 402 E. Scenic Drive in The Dalles.
