On Feb. 17, the Horizon girls basketball team beat the Ione Cardinals at the Big Sky Tournament by a final score of 54-46, earning a third-place finish in 1A-6 Big Sky League standings, which secured the Hawks a playoff appearance for a second straight year

After dropping their first home league game of the season last Tuesday night against South Wasco County, the girls finished the week with a close 44-40 road loss to Sherman, following the loss up Saturday evening with a win at home versus Condon/Wheeler by a final score of 62-50.
