Now that all the warm-up games are in the books, it’s time for the real season to begin.

Following a difficult match Tuesday at Hermiston, the Hood River Valley boys tennis team is trying to pick up the pieces at this weekend’s Intermountain Conference district meet in Redmond.

All Alec Asbridge wanted after last weekend’s district tennis tournament was to keep on playing.

The Hood River Valley boys tennis team came away with a 4-3 match win over La Salle on Tuesday during a non-conference competition in Portland.

HOOD RIVER — Summit and Mountain View traveled to Hood River on Friday, hoping to steal away a couple road wins from the young HRV boys tennis team.

Sometimes, all it takes is a little adversity to rally a team together.

GOVERNMENT CAMP — After a disappointing start to the season, the HRV boys ski team managed to stay on its feet and win Saturday’s Giant Slalom race at Ski Bowl by 1.5 seconds over Sandy.
