William “Doug” Mann, of Port Washington, Wis., passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015. He was 73 years old.
Doug was born in Bremerton on April 1, 1942, son of William H. Mann and Willma (Crayne) Mann. Doug grew up in Glenwood. After high school, he enlisted in the US Army, being honorably discharged in 1965.
On Aug. 15, 1964, he married Karen Schultz at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Milwaukee, Wis. Doug worked as a CIDL truck driver for freight trucking firms. He was a proud member of Teamsters Local 200 where he was a “Million Miler.”
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington and enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading the newspaper and spending time down at the lake front.
Doug is survived by his wife Karen of Port Washington and two children William D. Mann Jr. and Kimberly Mann of Port Washington. He is further survived by two grandchildren Bryce and Ethan Mann, three sisters Donna Montgomery, Debbie Sexton and Darla Henderson all of Glenwood, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Oct. 27, 2015 in Port Washington, Wis., followed by Military Honors. He will be laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery in Toppenish.
