Sharon Cecile Brock Roberts Tobey, 71, of Hood River, Ore., passed away Dec. 30, 2011, at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital. Sharon was born March 19, 1940, in Hood River, Ore., to Cecil Eugene Brock and Esther Keikkala Brock. She graduated from Wy'east High School in 1958 and enjoyed attending her class reunions.
Sharon worked in the local packing sheds for most of her working life. She was a lifelong member of the Parkdale Church of the Nazarene. She liked to garden and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Brock, her mother, Esther Brock, her stepmother, Corinne Brock, her first husband, Billy Roberts, her second husband, Norman Tobey, and her brothers Bob Brock, Dean Brock, Bernie Brock and Denver Duggan.
Sharon is survived by six of her 10 siblings: Doug Brock, Doug Duggan, Linda Holm, Becky Tompkins, Carla McCoy and Skip Brock; her three children, Craig Roberts, Debra Lucas and Lisa Hilstad; eight grandchildren, Melissa Smith, David Roberts, Caitlynn Rhodes, Mychal Lucas, Zack Lucas, Cam Lucas, Ethan Lucas and Derrick Hilstad. Sharon was blessed to have 11 great-grandchildren as of her passing.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 7, at 11a.m. at the Parkdale Church of the Nazarene. Afterward there will be a graveside service at the Upper Valley Cemetery. A reception at Parkdale Church of the Nazarene will follow.
It is requested by the family that donations be made to Parkdale Church of the Nazarene in Sharon's memory.
