Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
Sharon A. (Panko) Collins, 72, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, with her family by her bedside.
Sharon was born Dec. 10, 1944, in White Salmon. She was a strong-willed independent woman who grew up with a great set of moral values and an incredible work ethic.
Although small in stature, she could light up a room with her smile, infectious laugh, and twinkling blue eyes. She enjoyed socializing and had many friends, but she was an intensely private person.
Sharon was an amazing, generous mother. She is survived by her daughter Shannon Becker and her son-in-law William Becker (Middletown, Conn.); her younger brother Corky Panko and his wife Teresa (Washougal); a large extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews; and many friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Tony Panko, Jr. and Margaret “Peggy” (McCall) Panko, and her older brother Jim Panko.
Memorial services will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to: Middlesex Hospital, Office of Philanthropy, 28 Crescent St., Middletown, Conn. 06457
