Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
It is with deep and heavy sadness we announce the death of Sandra Lavelle (Ullrich) Jacobs, age 79, of Trout Lake, formerly a long-time resident of Kelso, passed away at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Ore., on Feb. 4, 2017.
Sandy was born in Longview on April 25, 1937. She was raised in Kelso most of her life then moved to Trout Lake to live out the rest of her days.
Sandy married the love of her life Tex Roger Jacobs on Aug. 9, 1959. They raised their 3 children — Michelle, Marty and Morey – in Kelso.
Sandy was a devoted and loving mother. She was very proud of her family and was excited to become a “Gramma” to her five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Sandy loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She would spend hours cooking and preparing for her company.
Sandy was known for her feisty, yet good sense of humor. Sandy loved her role as wife, mother and grandmother. She loved gardening, mushroom picking and her animals. Oh, and anything pink!
She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband Tex of Trout Lake; her daughter Michelle of White Salmon; her granddaughter Coral and husband Jimmy of Trout Lake; her grandson Jared and wife Laira of Sequim; granddaughter Jessica and husband Nick of Kelso; and grandson Jordon of Kelso, as well as many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2016, at Gardner Funeral Home at 1270 N. Main Ave in White Salmon. With an interment at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Kelso.
