Rosabell “Rosie” Ruff died of natural causes on June 14, 2009. She was one month shy of her 100th birthday.
Rosabell, a longtime resident of Hood River, Ore., was born to Rayburn and Corde Belle Parker on July 14, 1909, in Antlers, Okla. She then moved to the Hood River area in 1942.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses: Maureen and Hubert Mapes of Central Point, Ore., Geraldine and Mark McNair of The Dalles, Ore., and Jim and Betty Ruff of Brewster, Wash. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her five brothers and sisters: Lee Parker, Emery Barham, Homer Parker, Conner Parker and Adele Lindsey.
The Celebration of Life will be held at Anderson's Tribute Center on Thursday, June 18, at 2 p.m. A viewing will take place, Wednesday, June 17, between 5 and 7 p.m. at Anderson’s Tribute Center.
The family thanks the staff at Hawks Ridge Assisted Living and Heart of Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.
The family suggests memorials in memory of Rosabell to Heart of Hospice and sent in care of Anderson’s.
We will forever miss our mom, grandma, Aunt Bo, and Rosie.
