On Tuesday, May 14, 2019, Robert E. Trosper, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 82. Robert was born in Macon, Miss., to James and Mary Bell Trosper on June 5, 1936.
He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1957, stationed in Germany during the latter part of his service before returning home. He soon after married his love, Maudine Warren, on Dec. 20, 1957, in DeKalb, Miss. Not long after they headed West to the Northwest, making their home in Bingen. Robert was a hard worker, he had 36 years at SDS Lumber Company, and was always taking on side jobs from delivering newspapers to cutting firewood.
He wanted the best for his family and loved supporting his sons’ passion for racing motocross. He loved the Gorge and enjoyed exploring it and beyond on his bicycle, he biked hundreds of miles, taking long distance trips from their home in Bingen to eastern Oregon and down HWY 101 on the Oregon Coast.
As retirement settled in Robert enjoyed spending time outside working in the yard, bird watching and gardening, and always looked forward to a good NASCAR race.
Though he often seemed reserved, Robert was a provider, hard worker, spiritual and loving man with the kindest of hearts and a contagious laugh.
