Robert Wesley Beeks was born in Goldendale on May 12, 1929, to Laura May (Dingmon) and Lloyd Limon Beeks.
Bob grew up in Trout Lake, graduating from Trout Lake High School in 1948. He later attended Washington State University. On Sept. 3, 1950, Bob married Carole May Carr at the Presbyterian Church in Trout Lake.
Bob had various careers; he owned and operated a dairy farm, drove log trucks, was a home builder and a contractor on the Pacific Crest Trail.
He was a member of the Mt. Adams Elks Lodge, NRA and the Grange. Bob liked playing basketball, baseball and golf, and enjoyed RVing and gardening.
He passed away at his home in White Salmon on May 11, 2019, at the age of 89.
Preceding him in death are sister AnnaMae Crump and two brothers and a sister who died as infants.
He is survived by his wife Carole Beeks of White Salmon; daughter Beverly Meyer of Trout Lake; sons Terry Beeks of Trout Lake and Tom Beeks of San Francisco, Calif.; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at the Elks Lodge in White Salmon on Saturday, May 18, 2019.
