Randy Lee Van Woert of Hood River, Ore., passed away March 30, 2017, at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital with his wife at his side. Randy was born on Oct. 30, 1951, in Ossow, Mich., and was adopted by Rolland and Georgia (Wooden) Van Woert.
In 1977, Randy moved to Los Serranos, where he met the love of his life, Loraine White. They were married Oct. 30, 1980. Randy and Loraine moved to Gresham, Ore., in 1985 to be close to family. Then they moved to Hood River in 2000 to assist in the home care of Loraine’s mother.
Randy liked fishing, camping, and loved to tinker … tearing things apart and fixing them. He worked at Goodwill for approximately 18 years in Michigan and Oregon combined. Randy worked in the receiving and shipping department at Beckman Coulter in Brea, Calif., for three years. He also worked as a janitor for Bonneville Dam in Cascade Locks, Ore., for two years.
Randy is survived by his wife of 36 and a half years, Loraine, brother-in-law and sister-in-law David and Lori White, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Frank and Carolyn White, sister-in-law Jana White, sister Bonnie Rice Macias, sister Rosie Rice, sister Margaret Rester, sister Paula Bates, brother Al Van Woert, niece Danielle and her husband Josh Dean, nephew Tony White, nephew Billy and his wife Ashley White, and four great nieces and four great nephews on the White family side. Randy is also survived by many more extended family on the Van Woert side.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Rolland Van Woert, and mother, Georgia Van Woert.
A private family service will be held at Idlewilde Cemetery at a later date.
