Oscar Jose Solorio went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Friday afternoon, April 8, 2011. He passed away in Parkdale, Ore., at the young age of 31. Oscar was born in White Salmon, Wash., on July 27, 1979, to Vicente and Cristina Solorio.
Services for Oscar were held at The Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Hood River on April 15 at noon. Interment followed at Pine Grove Cemetery.
He is survived by his father, Vicente Solorio, and his mother, Cristina Solorio, both of Hood River, Ore.; his brother, Ricardo Solorio, and family of Houston, Texas; and his sister, Graciela Solorio-Romero and family of Odell, Ore. He also left behind two children, Lexandra and Angel Solorio.
He is also survived by his girlfriend, Jessica Donaghy, also from Parkdale, Ore. They had been together five years.
Oscar enjoyed playing basketball and watching college football. He loved his 1979 Cadillac, which was referred to as his "baby." He loved the outdoors and going to the movies. He loved playing cards and music. He loved to draw and made beautiful artwork.
Oscar always loved to have his clothes creased and his shoes polished white. He was a classy dresser.
Oscar's smile was infectious and covered the whole circumference of his face, lighting up any room. He had a great sense of humor that made many people laugh. He was a small in stature but his heart was bigger than him.
Oscar was a very respectful person who in turn received respect. He was such a witty, intelligent, charismatic person who had so much potential and life left to live.
In lieu of gifts or flowers, remembrances may be made to the Oscar Solorio Memorial account at Wells Fargo Bank (at Safeway) to help assist with funeral expenses.
