Roger Shute passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2025, at his home in Odell, Oregon. Roger was born in Prosser, Washington, on March 23, 1941, to William (Bill) and Louise (Quast) Shute and was 83 at the time of his passing.
Roger was proceeded in death by his father, Bill Shute, and mother, Louise Shute. Roger is survived his wife Donna (Bible) Shute; son Dennis Shute of Odell; daughter Lisa (Shute) Goade and son-in-law Keith Goade of Odell; grandson Justin Shute of The Dalles, Oregon; sister Barbara Eastman of Hood River, Oregon; brother Ken Shute of Odell; niece Laurie Hutson of Odell; niece Jennifer Hall of Phoenix, Arizona; and nephew Chris Shute of Odell.
Roger requested no viewing after his death, and no funeral or reception. There will be a private service for family and close friends at Pine Grove Butte Cemetery to bury his ashes. A reception honoring Roger will be held at the Crag Rat Hut in Pine Grove from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 23 for anyone wanting to join the family.Â
In lieu of flowers, donations in Roger's name may be made to Providence Hospice Hood River Foundation or Providence Hood River Cancer Center c/o Susan Frost, PO Box 149 , Hood River, OR 97031. Roger's family would like to thank everyone for the cards sent to the family.Â
