Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
Renee Maxine Holtmann, beloved wife, mother, sister, and aunt, passed away on April 11, 2024, at the age of 64. She was born on Jan. 11, 1960, and though taken too soon, she lived all 64 years of her life to the fullest.
Renee was a remarkable woman who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She had a deep appreciation for nature and spent countless hours hiking, camping, and bike riding with her friends and family. An avid nature photographer, she captured the beauty of flowers and waterfalls, preserving memories that will be cherished forever.
Renee was the epitome of kindness, loyalty, and positivity. Her warmth and compassion touched the lives of all who knew her. She dedicated nearly four decades to a career in banking and, in her final years, brought smiles to the faces of students in the food service department of White Salmon schools.
Renee spent her formative years on the banks of the Columbia River before making Trout Lake her home in 1980. In 1983, she married the love of her life, Larry, and together they raised their daughter, Shanna, and son, Justin. The couple recently celebrated their 40-year anniversary.
One of the greatest joys of Renee’s life was becoming a grandmother. Though her time with her granddaughter, Norma, was brief, it was filled with immeasurable love and happiness.
Renee is preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Maxine Portner and her brothers, Terry Portner and Dale Portner.
Renee’s spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love will be remembered and cherished always.
A celebration of Renee’s life will be held on April 20 at 11 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church. In lieu of other tributes, we gratefully accept flowers at the funeral location.
