Paul Lamond Randall, passed away May 26, 2025, and was born Aug. 16, 1933, to parents were Ross Randall and Cora (Hugg) Randall, who preceded him in death. His father raised grapes near Lake Erie in an area known as North East, Pennsylvania. At that time, Pennsylvania did not allow people to make wine, so their grapes were sold for juice.
Paul had two older sisters, one of which, Mary, is still alive. He went to a one room school nearby until seventh grade when he had to go to town school which was difficult for him as he was very shy. He was always good at mathematics and liked to read. Later he joined Toastmasters which gave him confidence to speak before people. he moved his family to The Dalles, Oregon, from Pennsylvania.
He had six children, Bruce, and Jacki; Eric, and Joan; Colleen, and Jim Wolford and three grandchildren, and Linda / Harold Burrows, two children, and six grandchildren; Wenda (Randall) Abbott / Dan, and Scott Randall / Carla, and three children; Dustin / Gif, and one daughter; Nolan, and four sons; and Sierra (Randall), and Marty, and one daughter.
When his children were young, he coached Little League. Later, he photographed Little League teams and individuals.
After a divorce, he moved to Hood River, eventually working for Farmers’ Irrigation District, which he did until he retired. He married Jean Harmon and they traveled to Australia, England, Germany, and a safari in South Africa. They visited foreign students who has stayed with them over the years.
He taught himself to be a photographer and use the computer to print his work. He was accepted into Mensa through various tests.
He enjoyed being involved in community activities . He was on the CAT Board (Columbia Area Transit) and the Urban Renewal committee of Hood River, and liked the potlucks they hosted on their deck. Being busy and involved in various activities and reading kept him occupied throughout his life.
