Miriam Tyler Lane, aged 83 of Richland, Washington, passed away early on Oct. 26, 2025, at Kadlec Hospital. Miriam was born July 11, 1942 in Lowell, Massachusetts, to Dore and Alice Tyler. She was raised in Richland when it was a government boomtown. Miriam graduated from Columbia High in Richland in 1960. She and husband Chuck Lane moved to Klickitat County, Washington, in 1974, living first in Goldendale and then White Salmon. Miriam worked for 20 years at Klickitat County Senior Services in White Salmon. She returned to the Tri-Cities to be nearer to family in 2015.
Miriam is survived by her sister, Janet Tyler; two children, Bill Bonner and Alicia Boyd; four stepsons, David, Brian, Michial, and Garrett Lane; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Miriam enjoyed spending time with horses and visiting the Washington and Oregon coasts. She loved road trips, sailing, and picking huckleberries. In her retirement, she went on travel adventures with friends, punching cows on the Yakama Indian Reservation, taking the Marine Highway up to Alaska several times and touring Iceland. She loved watching Seahawks games with family.
A celebration of life will be held at Community Unitarian Universalist Church in Pasco, Washington, on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. For those who can’t attend, the service will also be available by Zoom. Contact CUUCTech@gmail.com for link.
