Marjorie A. (Wetherbee) Stevenson, 88, passed away at her home on May 13, 2025. She was born in Zeeland, North Dakota, to John and Regina Schweigert. She moved to Dufur, Oregon, to teach fourth grade, where she met her first husband, Ray L. Wetherbee. They were married on June 11, 1960, and had three girls, Kimberly, Karen, and Kellie. After Ray passed, she went back to teaching Title One students until retiring. She then married a long-time friend, Robert Stevenson, but they later divorced.Â
She loved to quilt, knit, feed her hummingbirds, go to her grandchildren’s sports events, and spend time with her friends and family.Â
Marge is survived by her children, Kimberly (Ron) Taylor, Karen Norton, and Kellie (David) Taphouse; four grandchildren, Cody, DJ, Katie, and Melanie; five great-grandsons; three sisters; four stepchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She is predeceased in death by her parents and six siblings.
A memorial service will be held at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 27.Â
