Mary "Louise" Wooderson, 90, a resident of The Dalles, Ore., passed away at her home with her family at her side on Sept. 16, 2023.
Louise was born April 22, 1933, in Yakima, Wash., to David and Mary Fairbanks and graduated from high school in Sunnyside, Wash. She moved to The Dalles in 1950 and married her childhood sweetheart, Marvin "Woody" Wooderson.
She began her career in the medical field as a MCMC transcriptionist, then worked for the DMV and as an OSP dispatcher. In 1978, she returned to MCMC and retired in 2002.
Louise belonged to the Eagles, Women of the Moose and Mid-Columbia Senior Center. She enjoyed country western dancing, bingo and loved road trips with friends to her favorite casinos.
She is survived by her son, David (wife, Beth) Wooderson; daughter, Debbie Wooderson; grandsons, Lance (Viriya) Wooderson, Brett (Katie) Wooderson and Justin (Jessica) Hachler; her brother, Russel (Judy) Fairbanks; great-granddaughters, Brooke and Hunter Wooderson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woody, in 2001 and her son, Randy, in 1994.
