Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
Kathy Beck was born March 2, 1951, in Portland, Oregon, and moved with her family to The Dalles, Oregon, in 1957.She graduated with honors from The Dalles High School in 1969. She then went to Washington State and graduated in 1978 with a degree in veterinary medicine and secured her license at the that time. Later she practiced medicine in Ithaca, New York, while earning an advanced degree in veterinary radiology. She moved to Boston and practiced there until moving to Portland in 2012. She continued her veterinary practice at several clinics until retiring full time in 2022.
Kathy passed away on Nov. 27, 2024. She was preceded in death by her father (Ivon), her mother (Mary) and her brother (Richard). She is survived by her brother Alan and his wife Karen, and their two children, Michelle and Daniel.
No funeral arrangements have been made, but a memorial service is planned sometime in the late spring or early summer 2025 on the Oregon Coast.
