Mary Kathleen (Cain) Levin, who was born and raised in White Salmon, Wash., died Feb. 9, 2024, at the age of 90 in San Jose, Calif. Mrs. Levin graduated from Columbia High School in White Salmon in 1951, getting a bachelor's degree from Washington State, and a master's degree from Santa Clara. Mrs. Levin was a teacher at San Jose schools, and after retirement participated in The Villages Handbell choir for many years, as well as participating in the band, playing French horn, and the chorus. She was a lifelong lover of music, and she performed until her final year of life.

Mrs. Levin was born to Roy H. Cain, long term teacher, principal and superintendent of White Salmon schools, and Mary (Hinshaw) Cain, a postal worker, on Oct. 22, 1933. She leaves her husband, a son, a daughter, a granddaughter and a great-grandson as well as a stepson and a stepdaughter, four step-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two stepsons.
