Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
George Davy Morris Jr., “Buz,” was born on Oct. 27, 1957, to George and Eleanor Morris in White Salmon, Washington, where he lived until his death on Sept. 12, 2025.
After graduating from Columbia High School in 1975, Buz held several jobs throughout the community, at Mt. Adams Power Tools, Car Quest, and Deo Construction, before following in his father’s footsteps and opening his own shop, “Morris Motors”, which he ran for much of his life. In his retirement, he volunteered at the WAAAM Air and Auto Museum in Hood River, Oregon. Buz was well-known throughout the community for his love of model airplanes and his ‘37 Plymouth coupe, which he drag-raced in Carson and Dallesport. He is remembered by friends and family as an uncommonly kind and generous soul, and a patient teacher with much to share.
Buz was preceded in death by his father, George; his mother, Eleanor; his sister, Georgene; his older brothers, Pat and Bruce; and his sisters-in-law Mooreen and Penny. He is survived by his wife Sandra; his son Jesse, daughter-in-law Mackenzie, and grandson Aidan; his daughter Kristie; his brothers Herbert and Bob, sister-in-law Gayle; and many nieces and nephews.
His wife Sandra would like to say: “I can find no words to describe the deep love I felt for Buz. He was the best person I have ever known, and he gave me the most joyous years of my life. I was so lucky to be loved by this man.”
A memorial gathering will be held for Buz on Sunday, Nov. 16 at the White Salmon Grange Hall, from 2-4 p.m.
