Donzella Schlager

Donzella Schlager passed away on July 27, 2026, at The Springs in The Dalles, Oregon. Donzella was born the oldest of three children to Thomas J. Wilson and Viola E. Granger on Oct. 1, 1926, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

Donzella was raised in Lingle, Wyoming, on a sheep farm. She helped with farm chores, riding horses, and herding sheep in the hills. During school she was active with 4-H, sports, music and led the marching band. Her band was selected to play at the 1943 Cheyenne Frontier Days. Donzella graduated from Lingle High School in 1944. She married Ruben Schlager on July 22, 1944, and started her family while helping with the sugar beet farm.
