Della Mae Henderson was born in Alfred, North Dakota, on March 5, 1931, to Ameila (Irion) and Albert Fode. She married Charles Victor Henderson in Elko, Nevada, on Feb. 5, 1960.
Della was a certified registered nurse anesthetist and worked at Skyline Hospital and Hood River Memorial for more than 30 years, providing anesthesia to the communities. In addition to her professional position, she and her husband owned and operated Mont Elise Vineyards.
She enjoyed gardening, reading, knitting, and sewing. Della was active in her church, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (Sprit of Grace) in Hood River, Oregon.
Della passed away at her home in Everett, Washington, on Nov. 16, 2025, at the age of 94. . She is survived by her son Charles Henderson of Vancouver, Washington; daughter Elise Klein of Mukilteo Washington; grandchildren Candace, Constance, Jacob, and Ian; great-grandson Theodore. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Chuck, sister Delyght, brother Kermit and her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 28 at Spirit of Grace Church. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to FISH Food Bank Hood River or food bank of your choice.
