David Keene of Newcastle, Wash., passed away in February 2024. He was born to Gene and Dorothy Keene. He grew up in Seattle, New Orleans, and White Salmon, Wash.
David graduated from Columbia High School in White Salmon. He went on to graduate from the University of Washington Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Communications. David was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and the Phi Beta Kappa Society. David was a lifelong supporter of UW Husky Football and hosted many memorable tailgate parties with great friends.
He was an avid skier and golfer. David enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. He developed many lifelong friends along the way and cared deeply for them. David had a great sense of humor and way of bringing people together that was always fun.
David had a successful career as a financial advisor for nearly 40 years. He started his career at EF Hutton and retired from Wells Fargo Advisors in 2020. Many of his clients and colleagues became dear friends over the years.
David will be greatly missed by his wife, Wendy. They shared 30 years of life, travel, adventures, and charity work with lots of laughter and love.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gene Keene, Dorothy and John Blake. David is survived by his wife Wendy; sister Timi; brother Jonathan (Maribel); and nephews Ian Blake and Edward Tyrer.
In the last four years of his life, David suffered from dementia, but usually with a smile and good humor for others. We want to thank all the caregivers who helped David live a happy life as best he could.
A celebration of his life will be held at The Golf Course at Newcastle on June 13 at 2 p.m. Please note that part of Newcastle Golf Club Road (also called Lakemont) is closed through June 30.
