Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
Craig Steven Colver, 72, passed away on April 28, 2025, in Pasco, Washington. Born on June 23, 1952, in Goldendale, Washington, Craig lived a life marked by dedication to his work, love for the outdoors, and generosity toward others.
Craig pursued a hands-on education that reflected his passion for craftsmanship and technical skill. He studied auto repair at Clark College, Vancouver, Washington, welding and metal fabrication at Yakima Community College, Yakima, Washington, and heating and air conditioning (HVAC) at the Perry Institute, Yakima. These pursuits laid the foundation for a long and productive career.
He began his professional journey at Columbia Aluminum shortly after its opening and remained there until its closure. Later, he brought his expertise to the Pasco School District as an HVAC technician. His work there was marked by reliability and commitment until his retirement.
Craig found great joy in the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who also enjoyed camping trips that allowed him to connect with nature. His love of automotive repair and restoration was more than a hobby — it was a lifelong passion that reflected his mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Those who knew Craig remember him as a friendly and giving person. His warmth extended beyond family to friends and colleagues alike. He is survived by his wife, Jill (Basse); his son Walker Steven; brothers Michael Gene, and Monty Joe (Shirley); one nephew; three nieces; as well as grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Patrica (Peaches), and father, Walter Eugene (Gene) Colver.
May Craig’s memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a lasting reminder of a life well lived. A celebration of life will be held on May 31 from 5-7 p.m. at The Pastime Tavern, 366 Main St., Wishram, Washington.
