Bernita Vivian McKereghan, 90, passed away on May 8, 2011, in Spokane, Wash. She was born Jan. 18, 1921, in Osmond, Neb., to Arnie and Jane (Smith) Larson.
She attended schools in Hood River, Ore., and graduated in 1939 from Hood River High School.
She married Jack McKereghan in Goldendale, Wash., where she managed a beauty salon. They lived in The Dalles, Ore., and then Pasco, Wash. After Jack passed away, she moved to Spokane, where she lived with her daughter, Donna, for the past 14 years of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; and sons Michael, David and Richard.
She is survived by three children: Donna McKereghan, of Spokane, Rick McKereghan, of Kennewick, and Kim Aderton, of Portland, Ore.; and 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service was held on May 12, 2011, at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick, Wash., next to her husband Jack. The family asks that instead of flowers, memorials be made to Hospice of Spokane, P.O. Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99210.
